Full Job Description General Purpose:
The Pre-Weigh Technician is responsible for accurately weighing raw materials according to batch records and standard operating procedures (SOPs) in a cGMP-compliant environment. This role plays a critical part in the production process, ensuring product consistency and compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The technician must be capable of performing basic math calculations, documenting weights precisely, and wearing a respirator for extended periods due to exposure to airborne particulates.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately weigh and stage raw materials as per batch production records.
- Perform basic mathematical calculations to verify target weights and tolerances.
- Use precision scales and calibrated equipment in a controlled environment.
- Wear required PPE, including a full-face respirator, for prolonged durations.
- Maintain a clean and organized pre-weigh area in accordance with GMP and safety protocols.
- Follow established SOPs, safety procedures, and company policies.
- Complete all documentation with accuracy and in real-time.
- Report discrepancies or unsafe conditions to supervisors immediately.
- Assist with inventory control by properly labeling and returning unused materials.
- Participate in training programs and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, unit conversion).
- Detail-oriented with excellent record-keeping capabilities.
- Ability to read and interpret batch records, SOPs, and material labels.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for long periods.
- Comfortable working in an environment requiring full respirator use.
- Good communication skills and ability to work both independently and in a team.
Proficiency with production planning tools, ERP systems, and performance metrics (e.g., OEE, yield, downtime).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative leadership style.
Ability to manage complex operations and lead cross-functional teams under tight timelines.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED required.
