Your Opportunity:

Taylor Print Impressions, a division of Taylor Corporation, is seeking an Equipment Operator (Folder Operator) to be responsible for performing all stitching and folding tasks involved in the production of our products. This includes set-up, operation, and tear down of stitching and folding equipment.

Your Shift:

1st Shift; Monday – Friday, 6am – 2:30pm

Your Responsibilities:

Set up stitching equipment to collate and stitch signatures into books and brochures Set up folding equipment to automatically fold, slit, and/or score printed sheets into signatures for binding Read job ticket to ensure equipment is set up according to specifications and all required work is performed on each job Stitch, fold, or otherwise finish the product according to job ticket instructions Adjust equipment during production run, as required Read and interpret information from the bindery paperwork; planning sheets, layouts, dylux, and job ticket Complete tasks as directed by production schedules to ensure timely delivery of products to customers Utilize instructions and pre-established process and quality guidelines to perform the functions of the job Examine finished products for quality assurance Report defective materials or questionable quality issues to the department Supervisor or Lead Operate other bindery equipment, if necessary, to maintain flexibility of the Bindery department Participate in specific continuous improvement initiatives Perform prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as required to reduce problems, maintain quality, and minimize costly repairs and downtime Maintains the work area, tools and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety rules and regulations Follow standard work methods and prescribed safety practices to ensure production is as efficient and as safe as possible

You Must Have:

High School diploma or equivalent (GED) or work-related experience Must be at least 18 years of age Basic bindery knowledge and skills to operate bindery equipment Ability to read and interpret simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos and follow directions Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations including addition, subtraction, division, multiplication using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals and other forms of simple mathematical skills Use basic hand held tools such; rubber straps, plastic bags, plastic packaging clamshells, cardboard boxes, tape dispensers, and other materials necessary to the production and packaging of our products
