Onsite Required:
Must have finishing experience. This includes using the equipment on the floor: large cutter, folders, padding, guillotine cutter, Duplo cutter, stitch, trim booklet makers, and run folders.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
Ability to effectively multi-task and demonstrates strong time management skills in a fast paced production environment.
Ability to work effectively with people and to work under stress and deadlines. This would require effective communication skills both written and verbal.
Ability to be flexible in scheduling to ensure all work is completed by established deadline and support late job requests.
Detail oriented and focused on accuracy.
Strong computer skills and basic working knowledge of PC and Microsoft software applications (Or complete training course(s) for these skills within one year of hire).
Knowledge and Skills Preferred:
Working knowledge of Adobe Suite applications such as InDesign, PhotoShop and Acrobat.
Knowledge in the AH Host system to receive and fill orders for hospital forms.
Education and Experience Required:
Digital press experience (Xerox DocuTecs/Rizzos or comparable equipment) for accurate and quality BW production. This would include thorough knowledge of Xerox Free Flow Software, or industry make-ready software equivalent, to accurately prepare and impose files for routine and more complex digital printing jobs.
Experienced in setting up and operating a variety of finishing equipment such, as but not limited to; Stitch & Trim equipment (Borg), desktop power folder, guillotines, Duplo, shrink wrap machine, hole punch, glue padder, etc.
1-2 years’ experience in a fast paced printing environment.
Education and Experience Preferred:
High School Graduate or Equivalent.
Responsibilities:
Works under the direction of the Supervisor, or Printer III when necessary, and operates a variety of press equipment. This would include doing make-ready for routine and more complex digital jobs.
Operates all finishing equipment required to complete work orders and makes certain equipment is in good working condition.
Actively participates in customer service and accepts responsibility-maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
Demonstrates, through behavior, core values of integrity, compassion, balance, excellence, stewardship and teamwork.
Follows daily print schedules, complete print jobs accurately within the timelines established and notifies supervisor immediately of any problems that would impact or cause delays in meeting these schedules.
Skilled at independently processing electronic files or scanning materials to appropriate press, trouble shoot electronic files, as required, and accurately paginate jobs on digital BW presses.
Utilizes and operates a variety of printers and finishing equipment to finish all Print On Demand and BW printing/copying jobs per instructions on worksheet with the highest quality and accuracy possible using the most efficient processes to meet established the deadlines. If verbal communication with customers or manager is provided, this should be written on work request.
Inspects all jobs for accuracy, quality and prepares print jobs for delivery.
Complete all job tracking logs, POD orders, Print POs and any required reports accurately and on a daily basis.
Ability to provide quotes for simple BW print jobs and use the pricing grid for established core color jobs.
Monitor paper inventory and notify supervisor if paper stock or supplies need to be ordered and participate as a contributing team member by providing ideas, backup support and cross training that facilitates improvement of quality and efficiencies.
