Apopka, FL Are you a skilled and detail-oriented print finishing professional with experience operating a variety of finishing equipment? Do you thrive in a fast-paced production environment and take pride in delivering high-quality results? If so, our client’s Print Services has an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Finishing Specialist / Printer II. In this role, you will be responsible for the final stages of our print production, ensuring accuracy and quality in every job. You will operate a range of finishing equipment, working under the direction of the Supervisor or Printer III to complete work orders efficiently and within established timelines. Your commitment to quality, teamwork, and customer service will be essential to your success.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain a variety of finishing equipment, including large cutters, folders, padding machines, guillotine cutters, Duplo cutters, stitch and trim booklet makers, and run folders. Candidates without explicit experience operating this equipment will not be considered. Process electronic files or scan materials for printing, troubleshoot file issues as needed, and accurately paginate jobs on digital black and white presses. Perform make-ready for routine and more complex digital print jobs. Inspect all finished jobs for accuracy and quality, and prepare them for delivery. Accurately complete job tracking logs, Print On Demand (POD) orders, Print Purchase Orders (POs), and other required reports daily. Provide quotes for simple black and white print jobs and utilize the pricing grid for established core color jobs. Monitor paper inventory and notify the supervisor when supplies need to be ordered. Actively participate as a team member by contributing ideas, providing backup support, and assisting with cross-training to improve quality and efficiency. Assist the supervisor in creating effective workflows and adhere to established procedures. Contribute to the department’s achievement of Gallup goals. Knowledge and Skills Required:
Proven ability to effectively multi-task and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced production environment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively with people under pressure and deadlines. Flexibility in scheduling to ensure all work is completed by established deadlines, including support for late job requests. Exceptional attention to detail and a strong focus on accuracy. Solid computer skills and basic working knowledge of PC and Microsoft Office applications (or willingness to complete training within one year of hire).
Knowledge and Skills Preferred:
Working knowledge of Adobe Suite applications (InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat).
Education and Experience Required:
Significant experience operating digital presses (Xerox DocuTechs/Rizzos or comparable equipment) for accurate and high-quality black and white production, including thorough knowledge of Xerox Free Flow Software or equivalent industry make-ready software. Demonstrated experience setting up and operating a variety of finishing equipment, including but not limited to stitch & trim equipment (e.g., Borg), desktop power folders, guillotines, Duplo equipment, shrink wrap machines, hole punches, and glue padders. 1-2 years of experience working in a fast-paced printing environment.
Education and Experience Preferred:
