Saw Operator 4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars Saint Augustine, FL 32084 iDeal Aluminum is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented individual to operate our saw machine and accurately cut materials according to job specifications. This role involves interpreting work orders, safely operating the saw, ensuring precise measurements, and performing routine maintenance. Responsibilities Read and interpret job orders to understand specifications for material, type, size, and desired cut dimensions. Safely obtain and transfer stock to the saw machine, either manually or using a hoist. Operate the saw machine effectively, including starting and monitoring its operation. Install saw blades, adjust blade tension and cutting speeds, and set the blade angle for desired cuts. Set stops and guides to ensure accurate cut dimensions. Measure finished work to verify conformance with specifications, utilizing both metric and English measurement systems. Perform basic maintenance on the saw machine, including repairing or replacing defective cutting blades or wheels. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year of experience operating saws or cutting materials using a miter saw is preferred. Demonstrated ability to accurately read a tape measure. Knowledge of and ability to use various hand tools. Experience in either custom or production work environments is preferred. High school diploma or GED is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand for extended periods in a manufacturing environment. Sufficient manual dexterity to evaluate, install, and modify equipment components. Ability to work effectively in potentially warm warehouse temperatures.
