Job Description We’re seeking the right team member who can safely perform as a Foam Roomr. This team member will mix the proper chemicals using mixing tools and a scale, and pour them into molds to form. Once formed, the team member will lift the foam log from the equipment and work to conform the log to company standards using hand tools and power tools. This person will maintain a clean and organized work environment. Are you ready to work as a team in a fast-paced environment? Essential Job Functions Measure, mix, and handle various chemical compounds to produce foam used in boat manufacturing. Operate and maintain foam dispensing equipment, ensuring accurate and efficient production. Monitor foam mixing ratios, temperature, and chemical quality to ensure consistent product output. Pour foam into designated boat molds, ensuring proper coverage and consistency. Monitor foam expansion and curing processes, making adjustments to ensure quality and uniformity. Set up, calibrate, and operate all foam room equipment including pumps, mixers, and compressors. Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment to ensure it operates safely and efficiently. Inspect foam products for imperfections, air bubbles, or inconsistencies. Work with the quality assurance team to ensure foam density and weight meet the required standards. Follow all safety protocols including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as masks, gloves, and goggles. Adhere to environmental safety standards regarding the handling and disposal of chemicals used in the foam room. Work closely with other departments, including mold preparation and finishing teams, to ensure timely and efficient production. Communicate any equipment malfunctions or material shortages to supervisors. Ability to use hand tools and power tools Ability to accurately read and use a scale Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required. 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably involving foam or chemical processing. Experience in boat manufacturing or a related industry is a plus. Basic mechanical skills and the ability to operate and troubleshoot equipment. Familiarity with mixing and chemical safety protocols is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements include eye protection, hearing protection, gloves, protective suits, dusts masks and respirators. The employee is regularly required to be on their feet; occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Constant use of hands/hand tools for assembly, fine manipulation, inspecting parts, and/or machine operating. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Employees must be able to work a 10-hour shift or more in one workday, including planned and unplanned overtime. Exhibits ability to work cautiously but efficiently in potentially hazardous conditions.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be moderate to loud and is non-climate controlled.
