PLATE ROLL MACHINE OPERATOR
Savannah Tank and Equipment Corporation 1517 Telfair Road, Garden City, GA 31415 Job Summary The Roll Machine Operator is responsible for lifting steel plates of various sizes using an overhead crane with various lifting clamps, hooks, and chains to position the plate into a plate rolling machine. The operator utilizes a control panel to operate the machine, which rolls the steel plate to shape it to the job requirements. The Roll Operator continually monitors the quality and form/shape of the product throughout the process.
Essential Functions:
Operate overhead crane to load, unload, and position plate on roll machine. Accurately set-up/align plates on floor. Operate sub-arc welding tractor and/or robotic welding equipment to weld plates together. Roll product within specified tolerance on drawings. Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the foreman or supervisor. Accurately document applicable job, product, and quality information as required.

Additional responsibilities or duties may be required as needed in support of company operations.
Quality Standards:
Must be able to read and understand drawings, codes, and specifications. Will ensure all established fabrication procedures are followed. Strong mechanical knowledge and experience in manufacturing processes. Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition. Adhere to all safety requirements and protocols. Safety focused. Achieve daily production targets as established by supervisor. Must pass pre-employment drug test. References required.
