Openwork is currently engaged in a search to find a Rotary Die Cut Operator in Canton, GA. In this contract to hire role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining rotary die-cutting equipment to produce corrugated card board according to customer specifications and quality standards. This role requires a strong understanding of the die-cutting process, mechanical aptitude, and attention to detail to ensure efficient and accurate production. . Apply today if you meet the qualifications listed below. In a Rotary Die Cut Operator job you’ll be responsible for:

Machine Setup:

Set up print and die-cut sections of rotary die cutters following job specifications and proper techniques.
Select and install correct dies, cutting blankets, and other necessary components.
Ensure dies are properly aligned, secured, and in good working condition.
Adjust machine settings such as speed, pressure, and registration to meet job requirements.
Verify that all safety guards and devices are in place and functioning correctly.

Machine Operation:

Operate the rotary die cutter efficiently and safely, maximizing equipment utilization and speed.
Monitor the machine during operation to ensure proper cutting, scoring, and creasing.
Make necessary adjustments to machine settings to maintain quality and accuracy throughout the production run.
Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine issues and perform basic maintenance.
Monitor the feeding and output of materials to prevent jams and ensure continuous operation.

Quality Control:

Inspect dies before and after each run to identify any damage or needed repairs.
Monitor product quality, including dimensions, cut accuracy, and overall appearance, according to specifications.
Conduct regular quality checks and document findings.
Identify and report any quality issues or deviations to the supervisor.

Maintenance and Housekeeping:

Perform routine maintenance on the rotary die cutter, including cleaning and lubrication.
Report any mechanical problems or the need for repairs to the maintenance department.
Maintain a clean and organized work area around the machine.
Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.

Documentation and Reporting:

Complete necessary production reports accurately and timely, including production data, machine operational status, and quality data.
Document any machine adjustments, maintenance performed, or quality issues encountered.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members regarding job status and any issues.

Training and Assistance:

May train and assist other operators or assistants with machine operation and job duties.
Cross-train on other machines as needed.

Requirements:

High school diploma or GED.
Minimum of [Number] years of experience operating rotary die cutters or equivalent experience in the printing or packaging industry.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to read and interpret job tickets, specifications, and instructions.
Proficient in using measuring tools (e.g., tape measure, calipers).
Basic math skills, including the ability to calculate figures and amounts.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication skills. Ability to lift and/or move up to [Weight] pounds.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior work experience in the corrugated or folding carton industry.
Knowledge of different types of dies and cutting blankets.
Experience with flexographic printing processes.

Experience with lean manufacturing principles.

Perks:

This is a contract to hire role for a strong family-owned company This role will be 7 AM

  • 4 PM Monday
  • Friday and will be paying $19
  • 22/hr depending on experience level.
