Heraeus Quartz North America has an immediate opening for a skilled Assembly Operator to join our Cylinder Prep team in Buford, GA. The primary responsibility for this position is to assemble customer-supplied core rods with assigned cylinders for processing on the oven towers to produce quartz glass preforms.
Your Role and Responsibilities:
Receive and identify appropriate customer-supplied core rods for assembly. Etch core rods with the HF tank and maintain a clean air environment for the purest form of glass. Insert core rods into cylinders and place assemblies on oven ready racks. Record data/transactions within QDC/SAP system. Perform additional housekeeping and cleaning tasks. Support 5S program within assembly area. Cover other cylinder prep positions as needed. Support all activities within the department as needed or instructed; assist all positions in the department when possible. What is required for this role: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. 1 year of relevant experience preferred. A minimum of 6-months of manufacturing experience is a plus.
