We is currently seeking a Cutting Operator. Position Summary General Print Finishing and Bindery personnel operate various machines in the finishing department to a level that meets or exceeds department expectations. Those might include cutting, folding, laminating, padding, stitching, die cutting, i-cutting, kit packing and shrink wrapping. Essential Duties and Responsibilities This position is primarily, yet not exclusively responsible and accountable for the following: Having operational knowledge print finishing and bindery equipment that might include cutters, laminators, folders, padder, die cutters, i-cut, shrink wrapper, slitter, sheeter and more.
Reading job tickets thoroughly and interpreting before starting the job task and understand the job task.
Finishing each printed piece of material within QC requirementsInspecting each piece for Quality ControlPerforming and completing all tasks assigned in a timely mannerAlways maintaining a safe and clean working area.
Storing all materials in a manner that promotes cleanliness.
Using supplies in a cost-effective mannerAdhering to all productivity, SOP’s, safety, 6S and PPE requirementsPerforming and completing all other work duties assigned to include assisting in other departments as needed Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Basic computer knowledge. Ability to count, add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent. Have a working knowledge of computer functions for equipment set up and job costing. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved instructions from both written and oral communications. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standard situations.
