Job Description
Position Summary:
Operates one plant machinery as directed and specified while adhering to all rules and regulations mandated by safety policies and procedures to produce a superior product.
General Purpose:
To efficiently operate one machine at standard efficiency levels in order to fulfill daily production requirements.
Position Responsibilities
- Read and Perform Authorized LOTO as outlined for machine
- Operating in a safe manner
- Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements
- Communicate daily with Team Leader or Shift Supervisor on any changes or issues that may impact quality or machine efficiency
- Sets stops or guides to specific lengths as indicated by scale, rule or templates
- Observes machine operation to detect product defects, machine malfunction and waste
- Review product for inconsistencies or abnormal appearance assuring product meets quality requirements
- Performs routine machine maintenance
- Ensure product specification, HACCP, label verification and other quality measures are in compliance
- Ensure any machine deficiencies, cases per hour, and other parameters are noted on the communication board
- Communicate with oncoming Machine Operator
- Assist other operators to set up machines and any other necessary tasks to adhere to deadlines and completion of product
- Ensure all housekeeping, environmental, and GMPs are maintained and adhered to
- Comply with company policies and procedures
- Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
- Ability to add, sub-tract, multiply and divide in all units of measure
- Must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
- Must be able to identify colors.
