Department Supervisor Position Summary:

The Machine Operator I is responsible for independently operating assigned machinery, including resistance welding machines, brake presses, and mechanical power presses. The role ensures equipment is maintained through the Operator Maintenance Program (OMP) and supports production goals in a safe, efficient, and quality-focused manner.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate assigned machines with minimal supervision. Complete Operator Maintenance Program (OMP) for assigned machines within the first 90 days. Consistently meet or exceed daily production goals. Identify and resolve quality or safety concerns related to equipment or products. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Accurately complete all required production and process documentation. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or management.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required. Minimum of 1 year of experience operating manufacturing machinery preferred. Basic understanding of mechanical operations and production processes.

Skills & Abilities:

Must be able to read, understand, and follow safety and operating procedures in English.

Proficient in basic math:

addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and using a tape measure. Ability to use all required personal protective equipment (PPE). Strong attention to detail and ability to follow work instructions.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, and climb for extended periods. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.

Average lifting requirement:

under 50 lbs.

Work Environment:

Manufacturing environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals. Noise levels can be moderate to loud

  • hearing protection is required.

Safety gear, including safety shoes and eye protection, is mandatory. Work temperature may range from 0°F to 110°F depending on season and location within the facility.
