As a General Laborer, you’ll play a crucial role in handling and verifying lumber products to meet customer requirements and company standards. This position offers a hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment, perfect for those who enjoy physical work and teamwork.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities Handle and Secure Lumber:
Move and secure lumber products and other materials following detailed instructions.
Stack and Organize:
Stack finished products according to predetermined bundle sizes and customer specifications.
Labeling:
Accurately label materials based on type, size, and count, ensuring each piece meets the required standards.
Tagging:
Apply individual tags to materials before and after treatment or production.
Equipment Use:
Operate a staple gun and troubleshoot equipment as needed.
Bundling and Securing:
Band, bundle, and secure materials, including attaching corner protectors and loading sticks.
Quality Control:
Follow instructions for stacking materials properly, ensuring correct quantities and labeling before leaving the work area.
Inventory Management:
Maintain accurate inventory of tags and report any discrepancies to the supervisor.
Production Recording:
Record production details on production sheets.
Work Area Maintenance:
Keep your work area clean and organized.
Team Support:
Assist with other work areas by moving materials and loading/unloading material carts.
Safety and Improvement:
Participate in safety, continuous improvement (CI), and other programs and meetings.
Additional Duties:
Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications Education:
High school diploma/GED preferred but not required.
Experience:
No minimum experience required, but manufacturing or lumber experience is a plus.
Skills:
Working knowledge of basic math preferred.
