Packaging Operator I (1st Shift) Summary The purpose of thisrole is to assist in packaging manufactured metered dose inhalation(MDI) products in a pharmaceutical manufacturing company.

Trainingand Safety:

All employees must undergo various training activitiesat the start of their employment. New training and re-trainingswill occur periodically. Employees must strictly adhere to allsafety, health, and environmental guidelines at all times andensure that all safety precautions are being taken during handlingof machines.

Job Description :

The Packaging Operator performs allfunctions relating to the packaging of MDI products; consistentwith established Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP),customer requirements and in conjunction with all StandardOperating Procedures (SOP). Incumbents in this position areresponsible for the safe and efficient execution of their jobduties, while ensuring product compliance to establishedstandards.

As a secondary requirement, this position will beexpected to provide support to other operational functions toinclude but not limited to Warehouse Operations, ManufacturingOperations, and Facilities Operations.

Responsibilities :

Understanding basics of mechanical machinery and principles ofcontrol systems. Operating pharmaceutical packaging equipment withminimum rejection and maximum output maintaining quality standardwithin standard norms. Cleaning machines and area as per batch tobatch and product to product change over. Performing operations andpreventative maintenance of machines. Identifying and assisting inthe corrective actions of packaging related issues. Correctingstatus labelling at all stages of packing line with signature.

Ensuring that appropriate equipment calibrations are performed, andrecords are maintained. Ensuring line clearance before initiatingpackaging activities in each area. Wearing appropriate PPE asstated in the SOP before initiating the process. Workingindividually and in collaboration with others as part of a team.

Executing procedures to complete tasks in a safe and efficientmanner. Completing documents on time, ensuring accuracy andcompleteness. Adhering to all cGMPs, compliance/regulatory mandatesand quality requirements. Complying with company policies andprocedures. Performing duties through the proper safe use ofequipment, according to Health & Safety procedures and EquipmentManuals. Maintaining 100% cGMP & Compliance during completeoperation hours. Must follow the Departmental SOPs. Reporting allissues that arise to the department head or reporting manager.

Performing daily maintenance on equipment and machinery.

Maintaining discipline in department. May be required to assist inthe training of other employees in the department. Flexible to workextended hours, to achieve manufacturing schedule when needed.

Requirements :

1 year experience in packaging operations preferred.

High school diploma or equivalent is required. Accredited collegecertificate or university degree is preferred. Proficient in theEnglish language (Speaking/Reading/Writing) to understand workinstructions and document results. Knowledge of fundamental cGMPand regulatory requirements in a pharmaceutical manufacturingenvironment highly preferred. Basic understanding of mechanicalmachinery and the operating principles of control systems. Abilityto follow both verbal and written instructions. Demonstratedability to work in both independent and team environments. Goodknowledge of Health & Safety procedures, including OSHA. Strongmathematical and organizational skills. This position requires theability to do heavy lifting / bending frequently. Ability to wearappropriate PPE is required. Individuals may be required to wearrespiratory devices that include but are not limited to: AirPurifying Respirators (APR) which include half-face and full-facenegative pressure respirators, hooded powered air purifyingrespirators, or Supplied Air Respirators (SAR), which includehooded or full face supplied air respirators.
