Packaging Operator I (2nd Shift) The purpose of this role is toassist in packaging manufactured metered dose inhalation (MDI)products in a pharmaceutical manufacturing company.

Multifunctional Role :

This job is amultifunctional role. The primary nature of this job is to serve asa Packaging Operator. As a secondary requirement, this positionwill be expected to provide support to other operational functionsto include but not limited to Warehouse Operations, ManufacturingOperations, and Facilities Operations.

Job Description :

ThePackaging Operator performs all functions relating to the packagingof MDI products; consistent with established Current GoodManufacturing Practices (cGMP), customer requirements and inconjunction with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).Incumbents in this position are responsible for the safe andefficient execution of their job duties, while ensuring productcompliance to established standards.

Responsibilities :

Understanding basics of mechanical machinery and principles ofcontrol systems. Operating pharmaceutical packaging equipment withminimum rejection and maximum output maintaining quality standardwithin standard norms. Cleaning machines and area as per batch tobatch and product to product change over. Performing operations andpreventative maintenance of machines. Identifying and assisting inthe corrective actions of packaging related issues. Correctingstatus labelling at all stages of packing line with signature.

Ensuring that appropriate equipment calibrations are performed, andrecords are maintained. Ensuring line clearance before initiatingpackaging activities in each area. Wearing appropriate PPE asstated in the SOP before initiating the process. Workingindividually and in collaboration with others as part of a team.

Executing procedures to complete tasks in a safe and efficientmanner. Completing documents on time, ensuring accuracy andcompleteness. Adhering to all cGMPs, compliance/regulatory mandatesand quality requirements. Complying with company policies andprocedures. Performing duties through the proper safe use ofequipment, according to Health & Safety procedures and EquipmentManuals. Maintaining 100% cGMP & Compliance during completeoperation hours. Must follow the Departmental SOPs. Reporting allissues that arise to the department head or reporting manager.

Performing daily maintenance on equipment and machinery.

Maintaining discipline in department. May be required to assist inthe training of other employees in the department. Flexible to workextended hours, to achieve manufacturing schedule when needed.

Training and Safety:

All employees must undergo various trainingactivities at the start of their employment. New training andre-trainings will occur periodically. Employees must strictlyadhere to all safety, health, and environmental guidelines at alltimes and ensure that all safety precautions are being taken duringhandling of machines.

Requirements :

1 year experience in packagingoperations preferred. High school diploma or equivalent isrequired. Accredited college certificate or university degree ispreferred. Proficient in the English language(Speaking/Reading/Writing) to understand work instructions anddocument results. Knowledge of fundamental cGMP and regulatoryrequirements in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment highlypreferred. Basic understanding of mechanical machinery and theoperating principles of control systems. Ability to follow bothverbal and written instructions. Demonstrated ability to work inboth independent and team environments. Good knowledge of Health &Safety procedures, including OSHA. Strong mathematical andorganizational skills. This position requires the ability to doheavy lifting / bending frequently. Ability to wear appropriate PPEis required. Individuals may be required to wear respiratorydevices that include but are not limited to: Air PurifyingRespirators (APR) which include half-face and full-face negativepressure respirators, hooded powered air purifying respirators, orSupplied Air Respirators (SAR), which include hooded or full facesupplied air respirators.
