Machine Operator Position Available In Middlesex, Massachusetts

Job Summary:

The Production Machine Operator will safely control variousmachines and equipment involved in production.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Operates production machinery in accordance with prints andspecifications. Assigned machines may include lathes, grinders, mills,and similar equipment. Produces the required quantity of parts withinestablished specifications and tolerances. Measures finished parts withprecision tools, ensuring compliance with function, quality, andcosmetic specifications. Maintains logs and records of units producedincluding a record of errors resulting in rejected or discarded pieces.

Inspects equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment;performs basic and routine adjustments and maintenance. Maintains aclean, safe, and orderly work area. Performs other related duties asassigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Ability to follow directions andwork well in a team. Ability to interpret and translate engineeringdesigns and documentation. Thorough understanding of or the ability toquickly learn production equipment. Strong analytical andproblem-solving skills. Understanding of and the ability to abide byapplicable OSHA and environmental regulations. Proficient with MicrosoftOffice Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:

High schooldiploma or equivalent required. Associates degree OR completion ofrelated apprenticeship program preferred. At least one year of relatedexperience required. Completion of on-the-job training may besubstituted for educational requirements.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and performingrepetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping. Must beable to lift up to 50 pounds at a time. Visual acuity to readinstructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced.
