• We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Sawmill Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the efficient operation of sawmill machinery and equipment, ensuring the production of high-quality wood products. This role requires a strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety standards in a fast-paced environment.
• Duties
• Operate various sawmill machinery, including band saws, circular saws, and other cutting equipment.
• Measure and cut lumber to specified dimensions using calipers and other measuring tools.
• Fabricate wood products according to project specifications, ensuring accuracy and quality.
• Maintain equipment by performing routine inspections and minor repairs as needed.
• Utilize power tools safely and effectively for various tasks within the mill.
• Assist in loading and unloading materials using forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to production schedules.
• Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean working environment.
• Experience
• Previous experience in a sawmill or similar manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD for reading blueprints or schematics is a plus.
• Experience operating CNC machinery is advantageous.
• Knowledge of millwork processes and techniques is beneficial.
• Ability to work with various power tools and hand tools effectively.
• Experience as a carpenter or in fabrication roles will be considered an asset.
• Forklift certification or experience is preferred but not mandatory.
