Knowledge of assembly processes, blueprint reading, hand tool use and attention to detail are required. Verifies scale parts requirement list against parts inventory in work area to ensure supply for assembly and assembles components and subassemblies of various types of scales. Ability to read detailed blueprints and have a good understanding of how integral parts work together. Assembles parts and subassemblies, such as base, levers, stirrups, pins, charts, indicators, and pendulums, into scale housing, using hand tools and powered tools, jigs, and fixtures. May assemble complete scale or work at a position on an assembly line. May test units for accuracy, using master test machine, and adjust parts to calibrate unit. May troubleshoot scales and assemblies to verify with quality and unit is in good working order before packing. May test scales for accuracy, using master weights, trimming load cells and adjust parts and calibrate scale, using hand tools and large calibration machine. Completes the finals steps of assembly after calibration to close out scale. Final pack scale by using all the proper packing inserts and documentation and delivering to shipping. Competencies Basic Math Safety Conscious. Initiative. Ability to read blueprints, tape measure and other types of measuring devices. Teamwork Orientation. Required Education and Experience High School Diploma or equivalent. Preferred Education and Experience High School Diploma or equivalent. Two (2) years assembly experience in a factory/manufacturing environment
