The Edibles Packaging Technician is responsible for the accurate and compliant packaging of edible cannabis products. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, consistency, and quality control to ensure all packaged goods meet internal and state regulatory standards. The technician will conduct unit counts, inspect packaging components, apply compliance labels correctly, and verify that final packaged products meet company quality and aesthetic expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
Packaging & Quality Control
- Perform accurate unit counts for all edible product runs to ensure quantity matches production records.
- Verify that all tins, jars, and containers are functional, clean, and meet quality standards before packaging.
- Inspect mylar bags and ensure they are properly heat-sealed with no openings, weak seals, or contamination.
- Apply compliance labels accurately and consistently, in accordance with state regulations and company SOPs.
- Ensure finished goods are properly labeled with the correct batch, product information, and expiration dates.
- Visually inspect and QC (quality check) packaged products for cleanliness, accuracy, and presentation.
- Ensure that all packaging and labeling meets internal brand standards and regulatory requirements. Documentation & Tracking
- Maintain clear records of counts, batch numbers, and label application per batch.
- Communicate with the Compliance and Labeling team when discrepancies or issues are found with labels.
- Assist with documentation of packaging runs and final case counts. Team Support & Efficiency
- Work collaboratively with the Edibles Production and Compliance teams to meet production goals and timelines.
- Identify any product or packaging concerns and report them immediately to a supervisor.
- Keep workstation and tools clean and organized throughout the shift.
- Assist with inventory movement and replenishment as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in counts and label placement.
- Ability to visually inspect and QC packaging for functionality and consistency.
- Basic math and data entry skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards.
- Familiarity with state compliance labeling requirements (training provided).
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Previous experience in food or cannabis packaging preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Manual dexterity to apply labels and handle small products.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to strong odors, food ingredients, and packaging materials.
