Job Description:

American Ozark Sawmill is seeking an experienced and motivated Sawyer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating a circular saw and a strong mechanical aptitude. This role is critical in maintaining the efficiency, quality, and safety of our lumber production operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate the infeed deck, log turner, head saw, log carriage and setworks to saw logs into cants and boards.
• Use experience to determine optimal cutting solutions.
• Assist with changing saws and perform routine maintenance on critical components.
• Troubleshoot issues and conduct inspections during startups, shutdowns, and ongoing operations.
• Communicate effectively with others in the mill.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Respond promptly to alarms, equipment sounds, and other operational signals.
• Maintain high production volume and quality standards.
• Proficiently grade hardwood lumber.
• Assist with general maintenance, cleaning and other duties in the mill as needed.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Sawyer, preferably with circular saw operations.
• Strong mechanical skills and ability to diagnose and resolve equipment issues.
• Self-motivated, responsible, and capable of working independently.
• Committed to maintaining high safety and quality standards.
• Willingness to work in a physically demanding environment.

$18.00 – $25.00 per hour

Schedule:

8 hour shift Monday to Friday Overtime Weekends as needed
