Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Plate Maker to join our production team. This role involves creating polymer printing plates used in various printing applications. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sorting orders, preparing and processing polymer plates, and performing quality checks to ensure all products meet the required specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performs a variety of tasks related to producing polymer printing plates of varying thicknesses from polymer sheet material.
- Sorts and prioritizes orders by due date and plate thickness.
- Reviews order to determine plate material, thickness, all digital specifications.
- Determines exposure times necessary to produce quality plates
- Operates lasers, exposure unit, batch processor and dryer/finishing unit to process polymer plates.
- Performs quality checks on the plates to ensure they meet specifications
- Maintains work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition, and monitors and corrects unsafe conditions.
- Follows prescribed safety regulations.
- Maintains inventory control to ensure that plate and processing materials are always on hand and available for the manufacturing process.
- Slip sheet finished plates before delivering to the shipping department.

Responsibilities Create and prepare printing plates for screen printing processes. Ensure accurate color management throughout the plate-making process. Conduct quality control checks on finished plates to maintain high standards. Operate and maintain various types of printing presses and related equipment. Collaborate with graphic designers to understand typography and design requirements. Fabricate plates based on specific project needs, ensuring precision and attention to detail. Utilize Adobe Creative Suite for design adjustments and modifications as needed. Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols. Skills Proficiency in screen printing techniques and processes. Strong understanding of color management principles. Experience operating forklifts safely in a production environment (preferred). Knowledge of quality control measures in print production. Familiarity with typography and its application in print advertising. Competence in using Adobe Creative Suite for graphic design tasks. Ability to operate printing presses effectively. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
