Utility Position Available In Lincoln, Mississippi

The Utility Worker plays a vital role in ensuring smooth operations within the sawmill by performing a variety of general labor tasks. This position is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, assisting machine operators, handling materials, and supporting production processes as needed.

• Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the movement and handling of lumber and materials throughout the sawmill
• Keep work areas, walkways, and equipment clean and free from debris
• Support machine operators by feeding raw materials into machines and removing processed lumber
• Perform minor maintenance tasks and report equipment issues to the maintenance team
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
• Stack, bundle, and organize finished products for shipping or storage
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material-handling equipment as needed (if certified)
• Monitor and dispose of sawdust, wood waste, and by-products appropriately
• Assist with quality control by identifying and removing defective materials
• Perform other duties as assigned to support efficient sawmill operations.

• Qualifications & Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous experience in a sawmill, lumber yard, or similar industrial setting is a plus
• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects for extended periods
• Comfortable working in a physically demanding and fast-paced environment
• Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools
• Willingness to work in varying weather conditions and around loud machinery
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
• Commitment to workplace safety and proper PPE use.

• Work Environment:

• Exposure to sawdust, wood chips, and noise from industrial equipment
• Standing, bending, lifting, and repetitive motion required throughout the shift
• Work may be performed indoors or outdoors, depending on the task.
