Operations Technician Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Operations Technician to support the sustainable production of innovative materials that aim to replace traditional brick and cement, contributing to a significant reduction in global carbon emissions. Responsibilities Aggregate preparation including sieving, drying, weighing, and handling raw materials. Accurate batch preparation by weighing aggregates and other mix components. Operating mixing equipment and presses to ensure proper material blending and mold preparation. Washing and maintaining tools, equipment, and workspaces. Weighing and mixing components for chemical solution preparation. Executing experiments via solution delivery to lab-scale units, monitoring experiment status with probes, and following SOPs to support experiment execution. Operating equipment for washing, rinsing, and drying samples. Organizing, labeling, and delivering units for testing. Performing saw-cutting, mold-making, and other assigned duties. Essential Skills Strong attention to detail for accurate measurements and labeling. Effective time management to handle multiple tasks efficiently. Clear communication skills for reporting results, issues, and process changes. Proficiency in material handling, weighing, and measuring. Experience in mixing and preparation using mixers and presses. Understanding of particle size analysis and drying processes. Skilled in casting and molding materials accurately. Ability to maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in compliance with safety protocols. Additional Skills & Qualifications Knowledge of lab safety procedures, including PPE usage. Familiarity with MSDS and proper handling of hazardous materials. Problem-solving ability to troubleshoot equipment or process issues. Teamwork and collaboration with engineers and lab members. Adaptability to changes in materials, equipment, or procedures. Experience in a materials lab, concrete lab, or similar setting. ACI Concrete Lab Technician certification is a plus. Experience in the concrete industry is a plus. Work Environment This role provides lab support and production support, involving both indoor and outdoor material handling.
