This position is primarily responsible for setting-up, starting-up, and operating equipment so to manufacture products to specified quality parameters. Operating equipment may include but is not limited to: dough sheeter, dough wire-cut, dough hopper, cookie topper, dough guillotine, cookie enrober, cookie/cracker cooling tunnel. Responsible for the proper shut down of each piece of equipment by performing the following duties personally. Working well and cooperatively with a team, quality inspectors, managers, and supervisors. This position will cross train with Packaging Machine Operator, which is responsible for operating equipment includes: sheeter, wire-cut, topper, guillotine, enrober, cooling tunnel and various conveyors. Responsible for the proper shut down of each piece of equipment by performing the following duties personally.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Follows the GMP rules of facility and other policies, procedures, and SOPs. Has the ability to understand the operation of assigned production equipment. Reports food safety and quality problems to personnel with the authority to initiate action. Has the ability to properly perform adjustments to achieve proper quality specifications. Conducts quality checks. Has the ability to perform set-up, start up, and shut down procedures. Completes computerized and paper documentation. Maintains a clean and safe work environment. Has the ability to communicate with co-workers and management properly. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Preferred 1-year related experience and/or training as a machine operator; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred 1-year experience in a manufacturing facility Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation instructions and procedures. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole number, common fractions and decimals. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in oral or written form. Bilingual is a plus
