MACHINE OPERATOR JOB SUMMARY
Primary duties include machine set-up, conducting quality checks, and working safely in fast-paced manufacturing environment. Candidate should have a strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and ability to operate complex machinery in the corrugated container business.

MACHINE OPERATOR RESPONSIBILITIES
: Operate a rotary diecutter to produce quality corrugated boxes following specific set up instructions Set up the machine according to machine specific procedures; make necessary adjustments during set up and run to ensure quality work. Feed corrugated blanks into hopper during run. Check quality of blanks being fed into hopper and communicates any quality problems to the operator. Perform quality checks throughout each order to check glue joint, print quality, correct folding of all scores, quality of board, and other factors. Shut down machine and makes adjustments for quality when necessary. Obtain required waste dunnage for top and bottom protector sheets for units. Obtain required load tags for correct order identification. Operate the load former for production run. Stack boxes onto the loadformer. Ensure correct unit configuration per customer requirements. Clear machine jams. Make small mechanical repairs to equipment and reports significant and major mechanical failures to department supervisor immediately. Enter production data into computer. Operate power hand tools Use a utility knife Read a tape measure and have basic math and computer skills. Maintain a clean work environment Work safely and comply with all safety regulations. Lift, push or pull 50lbs, navigate stairs, stand, walk, bend, and kneel throughout the entire shift. Follow specific directions and perform other duties as assigned. May be required to work overtime, some Saturdays work depending on your position.
MACHINE OPERATOR QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Candidates should have the following minimum qualifications: Have a high school diploma or general education degree Have 1 year experience minimum operating a flexo folder gluer or rotary die cutter. Read and interpret documents and communicate effectively. A dd, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Read a tape measure. Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Physical requirements:
Stand, use hands to finger, handle, feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. Walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Climb and/or balance on equipment and across conveyor equipment using platforms three to four inches in width. Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Have close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration, or airborne particles and occasionally exposed to risk of electrical current. Plant temperatures can range from 50°F to 100°F with seasonal changes. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud (85dB). Standard workday is 8 hours. At times an employee is required to work overtime and/or an occasional Saturday morning.
