(828) 684-2692 http://www.rdplastics.net/ Role and Responsibilities Summary The Mold Machine Set-Up and Setter function is to insure timely and effective production mold change in order to maintain continuity of production scheduling as well as eliminate excessive equipment down-time. This position has a 24-hour call requirement.

  • Essential Duties & Responsibilities 1.

Orchestrate and maintain orderly movement, maintenance and storage of production molds to and from designated area. 2. Change production molds at press in accordance with priority scheduling from Plant Manager. 3. Arrange and maintain an orderly and well-equipped set up supply cart. 4. Hook up all water lines and auxiliary equipment as specified on production set up sheet. 5. Remove all unused auxiliary equipment and hoses from machine to designated storage area. 6. Work with Plant Manager to complete the following cleaning requirements prior to the start of a new job: a) Remove all excess oil from machine (use wet/dry vacuum); use degreaser to remove any grease or oil from machine. b) Remove all parts and runners from chute and chute area. c) Clean underneath machine. 7. Report all potential mold problems and/ or hazardous conditions to the Plant Manager immediately. 8. Assist with light maintenance duties as time allows under the direction from the Plant Manager. 9. Responsible for hand tools as issued. 10. Maintain preventive maintenance by keeping all machines properly greased and perform a weekly check of each machines oil and lubrication systems. Record service performed in PM log.

  • Qualifications 1.

Considerable knowledge of mold setups, molding machines, molding inspection, molded parts, auxiliary and secondary equipment. 2. Knowledge of basic measuring equipment and blue prints reading 3. Strong problem solving and analytical skills and the ability to perform preventive maintenance functions. 4. Knowledge of robotics, hydraulics and/or electrical systems for both solid state and microprocessor controlled 5. Ability to train and supervise lower level personnel. 6. Good communication skills

  • Training High School graduate or GED, completion and certification of plastic courses plus 3 years of experience a plus
