JOB SUMMARY
The Assembly Worker, Dunnage, performs regular assembly duties in the Fabrication Department. Additionally, this role may also work as a Back-Up Water Jet Operator and/or Welder.
JOB DUTIES
Read work orders and follow job instructions to assemble parts according to specifications Meet quality and quantity levels as determined by management Correctly operate basic power tools, tape measure, caliper, micrometer, and indicator Work with multiple job types and optimize daily jobs Provide communication to the supervisor when problems/issues arise Provide good suggestions to the supervisor in order to improve work processes Assist in solving production problems as needed May assist in identifying and fixing tooling or fixture problems Maintaining a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and guidelines May also assist as a Back-Up Waterjet Operator as needed May also assist as a Welder as needed

Qualification Requirements:
Minimum of 1 year prior assembly experience Knowledge of basic hand tools Ability to stand for long periods of time (up to 10 hours), often doing repetitive motions Good eye-hand coordination Good verbal communications skills Ability to read and use tape measure (inches or millimeters) and interpret directions listing measurements Prior experience in ‘Lean Manufacturing’ environment and ability to read assembly prints is a plus Schaefer Plastics is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
