Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Plastic Extrusion Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team in Monroe, NC. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining plastic extrusion machinery to produce high-quality plastic products. This position requires attention to detail, strong technical skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and operate plastic extrusion machines to produce various plastic products (e.g., sheets, profiles, tubing, or films) according to specifications and production schedules. Monitor machine operations to ensure consistent product quality and adjust machine settings as needed. Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on extrusion equipment to minimize downtime. Inspect raw materials and finished products for quality and ensure adherence to quality control standards. Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and production schedules to ensure proper machine setup and product specifications. Ensure all safety procedures and standards are followed during machine operation and throughout the production process. Maintain clean and organized work areas, including the extrusion machine and surrounding environment. Document machine performance, production output, and any issues that arise during operation. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily production goals and resolve any operational challenges. Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor or Operations Manager.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required. Previous experience in plastic extrusion or a similar manufacturing environment is preferred but not required. Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot machinery. Ability to read and understand technical drawings, work orders, and production schedules. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production targets. Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team. Strong commitment to safety practices and procedures.
