Summary:

The Set-Up Technician is responsible for locating and installing molds and auxiliary equipment, process setup, pulling molds, storing equipment. The role also involves troubleshooting equipment, maintaining cleanliness and safety standards, and collaborating with team members to optimize production processes. 2nd Shift – 3:45pm – 12:15am Minimum 40 hours a week with potential for overtime Who you are: Someone who enjoys hands-on work and has a strong mechanical aptitude. You have a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues. You thrive in a collaborative environment, communicating effectively with team members and maintaining high standards of safety and cleanliness.

Job Responsibilities:

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary at any time. Follow established setup procedures to complete setups of plastic injection molds Perform preventative maintenance tasks such as replacing worn hoses, adding guarding, and ensuring nozzle radius and orifice match setup instructions. Identify and repair or replace worn parts like O-rings and mold clamps and deliver damaged items to the Operations Manager. Ensure safety by identifying and addressing potential hazards to prevent injury or mold damage. Operate overhead cranes daily to lift, move, and position varying sizes of injection molds within the facility, ensuring precise and safe handling. Maintain housekeeping standards by following the 5S program. Obtain and maintain forklift certification to move materials and equipment as necessary. Communicate verbally and in writing with team members, visitors, and vendors in a professional, positive, and helpful manner. Use electronic communication (email, text, radio) to relay important details in real-time across all shifts. Utilize the IQMS system to access current and upcoming production details, plan and communicate to reduce changeover times, document mold repairs, and update downtime descriptions as needed.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalency required Associate degree in a technical field preferred 2+ years of setup experience in a manufacturing environment preferred Ability to communicate verbally and in written form effectively with team members, outside vendors and customers. Mechanical aptitude, strong understanding of mechanical systems and operations Troubleshooting abilities, identifying and resolving issues with equipment and processes Attention to detail
