In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the production process by handling various tasks related to drapery, and other soft goods’, construction and fabric manipulation. The ideal candidate will have experience with sewing and soft goods construction, but it is not required. The most important skills are an understanding of basic math functions (fractions, addition, subtraction, and division), a willingness to learn, and an unwavering commitment to precise measuring and cutting Duties Take measurements from orders and properly measure, cut, and prepare fabrics for seamstresses. Use ironing systems to press fabric and other materials before, during, and after the fabrication process. Fold and prepare raw materials, in-process product, and finished goods during the entire production process. Layer fabrics in preparation for processing, which includes measuring and pinning fabrics for hems, trims, pleats, and more. Organize and maintain inventory of fabrics and materials within the workroom. Collaborate with team members to complete production processes and ensure product quality. Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment in the workroom area. Qualifications Experience in drapery and soft good construction or related field is preferred, but not required. Firm understanding of basic math functions—fractions, addition, subtraction, and division. (A basic test may be required during the screening process.) Strong attention to detail, including an unwavering commitment to measuring carefully before cutting any fabrics. Ability to work independently or as part of a team. Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Willingness to learn and be trained by experienced peers. Ability to stand and execute duties using a table as the primary workstation.
