Quality Assistant/ Machine Operator Amherst Tool 361 Forest Road, Wilton, NH 03086 Quality Assistant/ Machine Operator The Quality Assistant/ Machin Operator position at Amherst Tool is a key role within our organization. This is a combination role consisting of operating CNC machinery and assisting our Quality Inspector with incoming inspections on machined parts. Our departments machine a wide range of metal and plastic materials while holding tight tolerances. We are seeking reliable, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and creative individuals to join our team.
Responsibilities:
Operate CNC machinery to perform machining operations on metal and/or plastic pieces to specific specifications. Responsible for maintaining quality and safety standards, housekeeping, process integrity, monitoring of calibration of all measuring equipment used, and monitoring machinery and tools to ensure safe, correct, and optimum performance. Operate coordinate measuring machine (CMM). Inspect machined, fabricated or assembled parts or products for defects and deviations from specifications. Use precision measuring instruments and complex inspection equipment to verify very close tolerances and specifications. Record, analyze, and report the outcome of quality inspections. Work well with all levels of the organization. Perform other quality functions as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
Read and interpret complicated blueprints. Prior quality experience operating CMM technology is a plus. Strong communication skills, with an ability to maintain attention to detail and accuracy. Strong mathematical skills. Ability to use precision measuring instruments, such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, e.g. Understanding G-Code is a plus CAD/CAM knowledge, for vertical and horizontal CNC milling On-the-job training is provided
