Process Operator:
The Process Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining plasma reactors and related equipment to produce high-quality dissociated zircon safely. Key duties include identifying and screening zircon sand, transferring and processing it through plasma reactors, and ensuring safe and efficient reactor operation. The operator will also replace carbon graphite, monitor cooling systems, maintain filtration systems, and handle the final product. Additional responsibilities include maintaining data logs, performing routine maintenance, and adhering to safety regulations.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING TIME
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent experience. General manufacturing skills such as blueprint reading, intermediate math skills (measure in standard and metrics using various measuring devices such as calipers, measuring tapes, micrometers, measuring tools) and basic computers skills are preferred. This position requires up to 3 months’ work experience to become proficient in most phases of the job to work independently.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT
Physical Demands/Efforts While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to lift, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and smell. Mental & Visual Demands Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job within the manufacturing environment, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to heat, fumes or airborne dust. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Various PPE devices & equipment such as gloves, safety shoes, respirators, dust masks, hard hats, hearing protection and glasses may be required.
