You are responsible for accurately and safely cutting various types of raw steel to specified dimensions and straightening the bars on a press. This role is critical for preparing materials for subsequent machining and precision grinding operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Retrieve raw materials (e.g., bar stock, tubing, plates) from storage locations as per work orders using overhead cranes and forklifts. Setting up the machines to cut to specified length and tolerance. Straighten material with a hydraulic and/or manual press and using dial indicators to straighten Deburr parts / bars on belt sander Responsible for setting up and quality control Perform routine maintenance on saws and related equipment to ensure optimal performance. Utilize measuring tools such as micrometers to verify dimensions of finished products. •

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Proven mechanical ability Experience in an industrial manufacturing setting Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders. Experience with precision measuring tools – calipers and or micrometer. Basic understanding of different metal types and their cutting properties. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work. Forklift certification or ability to obtain one is a plus.
