CNC Setup Technician Job Summary:

We are seeking askilled CNC Setup Technician to join our precision manufacturingteam. This role is critical in ensuring CNC machines are properlyprepared, configured, and optimized for production. The idealcandidate will have hands-on experience in interpreting blueprints,selecting tooling, calibrating machine parameters, and trainingmachine operators to ensure efficient and accurate part production.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Blueprint and Documentation Interpretationo Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and workorders. o Understand part specifications including dimensions,tolerances, and required features. 2. Machine Setup o Select,install, and secure cutting tools, fixtures, and workholdingdevices. o Set up machine work coordinate systems (WCS) and tooloffsets. o Calibrate machine parameters such as speed, feed, anddepth of cut. 3. First-Piece Inspection & Test Runs o Perform testruns to verify setup accuracy and program integrity. o Inspect andmeasure the first machined part to ensure it meets specifications.4. Operator Training o Train machine operators to performproduction processes efficiently and accurately. o Provide guidanceon best practices for tooling, part handling, and quality checks.5. Maintenance & Troubleshooting o Conduct routine cleaning,lubrication, and basic maintenance. o Identify and correct minormechanical or operational issues during setup or production. 6.Quality & Safety o Work closely with engineers and quality controlto ensure part conformity. o Maintain a clean, organized, and safework environment following all safety protocols. 7. Documentation ℜcordkeeping o Accurately document setup instructions,adjustments, and production parameters. o Track usage and conditionof tooling, fixtures, and specialized gauges.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training orcertification preferred.
• Extensive experience in CNC machinesetup and operation. Machine Types – Mori Seiki, Fadal, Star, Flow,Amada and Mitsubishi
• Strong knowledge of tooling, machinecalibration, and GD&T.
• Ability to read and interpret complexblueprints and technical documents.
• Familiarity with CNCprogramming languages is a plus.
• Solid understanding of machiningprocesses, materials, and machine capabilities.
• Strong attentionto detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independentlyor as part of a team.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

• Work is performed in a manufacturing setting with exposure tomachinery and moderate noise.
• Regularly required to stand, walk,lift tools or materials, and use hands to handle parts orequipment.
• Visual acuity for reading prints and inspecting partsis essential.
