Your future belongs at the home of the Excellent Chicken…Bell and Evans! Job Summary Perform a variety of duties related to the processing of poultry. Including working with live chicken or raw chicken. Tasks include but are not limited to handling and processing chicken products, deboning, cutting, packing, weighing, moving, inspecting, etc. In all positions, other duties by supervision as needed.
Essential Functions:
Ensure pallet jack is clean from prior shift. Complete pre-operation inspection of equipment. Weigh product on floor scale and print label. Use stretch wrap to secure product on pallet. Move product to storage or shipping areas. Stock lines with required PPE and hand washing products. Complete temperature checks throughout the manufacturing area. Verify product seals are correct and match the production screens. Operate and maintain basic production equipment. Lockout-tagout certified and follow all lockout-tagout parameters. Inspect/calibrate all equipment before use and between each breakdown. Coordinate with leads to follow production schedules to make the correct WIP. Follow each product mix based off recipes. Calculate the correct weights by ingredient to achieve correct product mix. Ensure all ingredients are under the correct co-date/meet all QA requirements for temperature and consistency. Work with QA to obtain correct water/phage mix. Able to use safety scissors/knife to open necessary ingredients. Operate scale and ensure all finished buggy/bin are labeled and covered. Move/Store finished buggy/bin in designated areas or to production line. Actively look for downgrades, contamination, or foreign material and report as needed. Although typically assigned to a single department, production and staffing needs will dictate periodic changes. All applicants must be willing and able to work in other departments and positions as needed and assigned. Willing to work in a variety of conditions, hot, cold, wet, and noisy. Willing and able to work around industrial equipment, stand for several hours, lift/push/pull up to 40 pounds, repetitive use of the arms, wrists, and hands.
Education and Experience:
Previous poultry production experience OR previous experience in a food manufacturing environment preferred.
Language SkillS :
Ability to read and interpret documents in English or Spanish, such as safety rules, instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to complete checklists.
