Ametek, Inc. Performs the setup, operation and tear-down ofvarious winding, coiling and press machines. Adjustments andmeasurements may be required during the operation of these machinesto ensure quality and accuracy of the finished product. Anapplicant with previous heavy machine operator experience would bea good candidate for this position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES

include the following. Performs machine and/orprocess operations using basic hand tools and other equipment thatmay be unique to the application. The machine operator will need toselect the correct tools/ dies, install them into the machine andrun specific scheduled jobs and changeover jobs when complete. Themachine operator must help troubleshoot any issues with the machineand/or tooling and perform minor preventive maintenance tasks asneeded. Performs bench-type processes to complete mechanicalassemblies and sub-assemblies, using hand tools and/or relatedequipment. Performs assembly operations that are moderatelycomplex, requiring adjusting, fitting, and aligning of components.

Completes tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules with minimumsupervision. Works from engineering drawings and/or specificationsto produce certain products. Reports defective materials orquestionable conditions to the department supervisor. Inspects andconducts quality control tests on products as needed Keeps the workarea and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and followsprescribed safety regulations. May rotate to other workstations inthe unit to gain mastery of multiple steps in the productionprocess. Work may involve frequent handling of moderate to heavycomponents. Performs other duties as requested, directed, orassigned. Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS

Highschool diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to threeyears related experience and/or training; or equivalent combinationof education and experience. Candidate should have at least someexperience in operating and setting up engine lathes and punchpress machines. Candidate should also have experience using basichand tools and assembly equipment. Ability to read and interpretdocuments such as safety rules, operating and maintenanceinstructions, and procedure manuals. While performing the duties ofthis job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit,use hands, etc. The employee must have the ability to lift and/ormove up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by thisjob include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheralvision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Whileperforming the duties of this job, the employee is regularlyexposed to moving mechanical parts and the risk of electricalshock.
