Job Description
Overview Under general supervision, performs routine packaging of a variety of products; and cleans, assembles, and disassembles packaging machinery. There are a variety of duties associated with this position, at any given point the Packaging Operator would normally perform visually and physically the following: Responsibilities Ensure that work area is clean and safe. Ensure that product/component and work order record match. Assist the Lead ensuring that the equipment is operating properly. Communicate any and all production issues to the Lead and/or Supervisor. Assist the Set Up operator with assembling and disassembling different Packaging equipment for setup/startup operations. Clean up work area and equipment as frequent as CGMP and SOPs mandate. Perform other duties as assigned. Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures. Follows verbal and written instructions provided by the Line Lead and/or Packaging Supervisor. Performs packaging duties using packaging equipment, or manually, if packaging equipment is not available. Follows Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and manuals related to safety, packaging, cleaning and assembly/disassembly of machinery. Attends all safety and packaging training sessions. Meets project deadlines and performance standards. May operate material handling equipment. Recommends equipment/supply needs. Complies with all company policies and procedures, including safety rules and regulations. Performs related duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers and decimals using a calculator. Ability to follow and understand verbal and written job and Safety instructions in English. Must have strong hand/eye coordination. Ability to work well with people, be polite and be teamwork oriented. Must have organizational skills. Possesses the ability to walk, stand, reach, bend, climb and lift consistently throughout the shift. Able to lift and carry up to 25lb. Subject to moderate to loud levels.
