Job Description
Machine Operator Morcon, Inc. 2536 James Baker Blvd, Great Falls, SC 29055 This position is responsible for the safe operation of napkin, towel, and tissue converting equipment. This position may rotate to different machines within the process as business needs dictate. The ability to multi-task and manage a fast-paced environment where quality, safety and productivity are key competencies, is required. Morcon is a team-oriented environment where respect and reliability is a requirement.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform all required tasks in a safe manner, adhering to all established safety rules and procedures. Start-up, shut-down, and maintain equipment to optimal operating condition. Operate machine through the control panel. Notify shift leader of any mechanical or material issues. Operate machinery to production standard levels. Make minor machine adjustments to support optimal operational effectiveness. Adjust machine settings such as speed or tension to produce products that meet specifications. Inspect and remove defective products and packaging material. Thread paper through machine as needed. Pack finished goods into correct inner packaging and boxes. Maintain high quality standards and address concerns with a sense of urgency. Track production on schedule sheets provided. Perform product changeovers based on the planned schedule. Clean and oil the machine as needed. Maintain a clean and safe work area. Performs other duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be at least 18 years old. Must be safety focused. Must be energetic with a positive attitude. Must have strong attention to detail. Must be highly motivated with the ability to work independently or as a team. Must be dependable and have reliable transportation.
PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Available to work any shift. Mechanical aptitude. High school diploma or GED Ability to communicate effectively in a diverse work environment.
WORKING/ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. Must be able to stand, walk, twist and bend regularly to complete job tasks. Must be able to work in a non-climate controlled environment which is hot in the summer months and comfortable during cooler weather.
