RESPONSIBILITIES 1.1

Responsible for providing direction to Filler Operator and Closer Operators 1.2 Provides support for Filler and Closer Operators who are on break or away from work 1.3 Ensures that Closer Operators have appropriate supplies of can lids 1.4 Clears lines of jams to keep line running 1.5 Adjusts machine speed as necessary 1.6 Monitors all machine settings and notify supervisor or lead of any issues 1.7 When operating the Closer Machine, the Lead Operator must: 1.7.1 Ensures the cans are filled with appropriate levels of broth, water and or spices, as directed by the work order 1.7.2 Control and monitor temperature of canned items using thermometer on a regular basis during the closing process 1.7.3 Provide information and samples to laboratory to testing 1.7.4 Adjust temperature as necessary, based on feedback from lab technicians 1.7.5 Stops and starts equipment as necessary 1.7.6 Inspect cans prior to entry into the closer machine- remove or adjust any that are dented or not level 1.8 When operating the Filler Machine, the Lead Operator must: 1.8.1 Responsible for safety running the filler machine in the Canning Fill Room 1.8.2 Verify that all guards are in place prior to startup of machines 1.8.3 Ensure that the correct amount of product and spice in placed in each can 1.8.4 Verify product being produced matches the produce in the filler prior to start 1.8.5 Maintain production and line flow, notifying supervisor or maintenance immediately if there is any machine jam or blockage 1.8.6 Conduct periodic checks on machinery & equipment as required 1.8.7 Observe that the filler is operating correctly ad there is no visible can damage 1.9 Other duties may be assigned 2.0 SUPERVISORY

SKILLS 3.1

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and procedure manuals. 3.2 Ability to communicate with others orally. 4.0 MATHEMATICAL

SKILLS 4.1

Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. 4.2 Ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement and volume. 5.0 REASONING
