TITLE:

Sheathing Line Extrusion Operator 2)

PRIMARY FUNCTION

Must be able to proficiently operate an extruder and any other piece of equipment necessary to manufacture the required quality product for the operation required in the assigned extrusion area. 3)

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

A) Must safely operate and keep clean any piece of equipment necessary for manufacturing a product, which conforms to the quality requirements. B) Must read and understand the masters, process sheets, and SOP manual, which are necessary to operate the equipment and manufacture the product. C) Must complete and maintain all required paperwork necessary in the operation of fiber optic cables. D) Must use all required hand tools necessary to set-up, take apart, and to operate the extrusion equipment. E) Must perform all required quality control checks and inspections to assure the product being manufactured is meeting all required specifications. To include using micrometers, OTDR, gauge block microscope, and any other equipment necessary to meet and assure compliance. F) Must be able to operate the various extrusion lines in the department if assigned. G) Must be able to manufacture and maintain a quality product that meets required specifications. H) Must keep equipment and area clean and organized. 4)

REQUIREMENTS

A) Must be able to read, write, and comprehend the English language (i.e., the language of all plant directives) for required document control, equipment operation, and supervisor/peer instructions. B) Must perform simple mathematics to be able to understand process sheets, masters, and SOP manuals, and to be able to keep accurate accounts of materials produces, scrapped, issued, and returned to and from stock. C) Will be required to supply own simple hand tools and devices necessary to operate the extrusion line. The tools can be purchased after training begins with operator deciding what he/she needs to operate the extrusion line. Certain tools are required per Process Engineering. D) Must understand and comply with all policies and procedures of Company. This refers to attendance, breaks, conduct, and so forth. E) Extrusion experience is preferred.
