POSITION SUMMARY

Takes a roll of fabric and rewinds it to remove a problem or break it down into smaller rolls to meet customer quality or quantity requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Rewind large rolls by threading up the machine and running rolls to customers desired lengths.
Wrap and identify finished rolls of fabric and bundle or palletize if required.
Tag rolls for identification
Rewind rolls on hold by threading up and running roll to the area of flaw, remove flaw by splicing it if required.
Conduct quality checks on material as required.
Assist on the Coater as necessary, i.e. wrapping rolls or other duties that they have been trained to do.
Clean up, sweep area around the machine including the main aisle.
Bundle and bail scrap material.
Wear safety shoes and hearing protection at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiple and divide with 10’s and 100’s.
Ability to perform these operations using weight measurement, volume and distance.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee is often required to use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch; and talk or hear.
