Fabric Cutter Image Pointe 403 Old Knoxville Highway, New Tazewell, TN 37825 Overview We are seeking a skilled Fabric Cutter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the garment production process, utilizing their expertise in fabric cutting and garment construction. This position requires a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of various cutting techniques to ensure high-quality output. Reporting to the Production Planning Manager, the Fabric Cutter will be responsible for laying out and cutting fabric using our patterns and equipment that will help in automatic and hand cutting. Cutters will measure, mark and trace patterns on fabric to prepare for cutting. Previous cut & sew manufacturing experience is valuable, but if you are eager to learn and are looking to build the skills for a long-term career, we will provide all the necessary training. Responsibilities Operate cutting machines and tools with precision to fabricate fabric pieces according to specifications. Interpret patterns and drafts to accurately cut materials for garment construction. Making sure work areas and equipment are clean. Deciding on the correct cutting method for the type of material. Preparing the fabric for cutting out by spreading it out in flat layers, smoothing out creases and checking the fabric for faults. Planning how much to cut from a piece of material so that there is not much waste. Placing the pattern on the fabric and marking round it. Cutting round the pattern using a computer controlled cutting machine, scissors or a special electric knife. Carefully cutting delicate materials by hand. Cutting as many as 150 layers of fabric at once, if you use a cutting machine. Storing fabrics correctly and checking stock levels. Requirements Proven experience in machining, fabricating, or sewing within a garment production environment. Must be at least 18 years old to work with industrial machines. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot and maintain sewing machines effectively. Ability to thrive in fast-paced environment. Familiarity with garment construction processes and techniques is essential. Ability to read and interpret patterns, drafts, and technical specifications accurately. Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Previous experience operating industrial cutting machines is preferred.
