The ideal Slitting Assistant is a self-motivated, skilled hourly professional. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: (Other duties may be assigned.) Responsible for proper storage of metallized rolls to the proper location and reflects the storage of that roll in the inventory system Responsible for all finished products from the manufacturing area to the warehouse area and ensure that material is properly prepared for shipping Responsible for being mindful of material being produced at each slitter Responsible for aiding multiple machines Ensuring that all roll locations are properly entered into the database and that location of all inventories is properly maintained Responsible for communicating with previous shifts at shift change Must be a team player and willing to share and encourage other members Responsible for collaborating with the slitting operator to ensure understanding of the schedule and the materials needed for efficient processing Responsible for ensuring that job sheets and CSS (Customer Specification Sheets) match to meet the customer’s specifications. Responsible for determining with the slitting operator the unwind and rewind directions to meet customer specifications Responsible for communication and ensuring with the operator the material is ready to run prior to the start of the machine. Responsible for assisting the slitting operator with the turn-around of the machine but not limited to removing any materials from the unwind core, placing it in the proper bailer, removing unwind core and replace with a master roll, assisting the slitting operator’s splicing needs, cleaning up any film scrap as needed, staging materials to be processed, restocking supplies at the machine as needed, and assisting the slitting operator with loading materials onto and out of the machine. Maintaining all packaging supplies organized and in the proper location Responsible for empty trash bins as needed in accordance with Work Instructions Ensuring that all travel lanes and aisles in the production area warehouse are clean and free from all debris Responsible for loading all scrap materials onto recycling trailer in accordance with established guidelines Maintaining all equipment in the best working condition by ensuring proper maintenance checks as per established schedules Responsible for locating any misplaced material Responsible for immediately reporting damages to materials and or equipment Helping meet or exceed production and quality goals while optimizing equipment to reduce waste Adhering to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, customer specification sheets, policies, good manufacturing practices, work instructions, procedures, and actively participating in the safety program Ability to work weekends, holidays, rotating shifts, and overtime when needed Marginal Duties and Responsibilities include the following: (Other duties may be assigned.)
