• Job Description
• We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Saw Operator to join our team on 2nd shift.

This position involves working from 3pm to 12am Monday through Friday, with initial training on a flexible shift, likely from 11am to 7:30pm. The Saw Operator will oversee the entire process of completing work orders, from interpreting customer color codes to operating saw equipment, preparing finished parts to go in the warehouse (bundling and palletizing), then placing the finished parts in the appropriate place(s) in the warehouse. Occasionally gathering your own materials from warehouse prior to measuring and cutting.

• Responsibilities
• + Interpret customer color codes and set up saws accordingly. + Read and utilize tape measures and other measuring instruments accurately to 1/16″. + Operate saw equipment efficiently and safely. + Pull parts from the warehouse and place finished parts back into the warehouse. + Work with blueprints, shears, and various tools. + Ensure all work orders are completed accurately and on time.
• Essential Skills
• + Ability to interpret tape measures and other measuring instruments to 1/16″. + Mechanically inclined with strong problem-solving skills. + Experience with metal fabrication, carpentry, machine operation, manufacturing, and/or industrial saws/band saws. + Forklift operation.
• Additional Skills & Qualifications
• + Warehouse experience preferred. + Steel manufacturing. + Metal fabrication machine set-ups, changeovers, and troubleshooting – presses, plasma tables, laser cutters, band saws, CNC lathes/mills, etc.
• Work Environment
• You will be working in a smaller steel manufacturing facility and warehouse. It is not climate-controlled, so it can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter, but they do have pretty good ventilation. Metal fabrication shops like this are tougher, dirtier work environments, so candidates must be comfortable with that.
• Job Type & Location
• This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hixson, TN.

• Starting Pay:

• $19/hr

• Shift:

• 2nd- 3:00pm to about midnight

• Schedule:

• Monday – Friday; OT on Saturdays as needed
• Weekly hours:
• 45-50, maybe 55 on occasions
• Pay and Benefits
• The pay range for this position is $19.00 – $19.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
