What You’ll Do:

The Feed Mill Floater Operator is a cross-functional role designed to support both bulk ingredient receiving and core feed production processes. This position ensures smooth operational flow by providing coverage and support across receiving, grinding, mixing, pelleting, and finished feed distribution. The Floater is expected to adapt to shifting needs and assist in all areas as directed, while upholding safety, quality, and housekeeping standards. Bulk Ingredient Responsibilities Unload trailers according to bulk receiving SOPs Maintain inventory levels and monitor bulk bin/storage capacities Retain ingredient samples per sampling SOPs and ensure proper documentation Maintain lot tracking and ingredient traceability systems Perform cycle trailer movements (retrieve, unload, return) Maintain receiving equipment and perform minor repairs Production Operations Responsibilities Perform grinding, mixing, pelleting, cooling, and finished feed distribution Operate forklifts, yard dog, and heavy equipment safely and efficiently Maintain operation logs, production records, and safety documentation Load/unload hopper bottoms and finished feed products Conduct preventative maintenance and equipment inspections Uphold housekeeping standards in all assigned areas General Responsibilities Communicate effectively with production, maintenance, and logistics teams Follow and enforce all SOPs, safety policies, and company procedures Champion a Zero Injury and Safety-First mindset Other duties as assigned by supervision

Who You Are:

At least 18 years of age Heavy equipment operations experience preferred Excellent communication and organizational skills Strong computer literacy, especially in Microsoft Office Detail-oriented and self-motivated Able to follow detailed written and verbal instructions Dependable and able to multitask Able to work extended hours, weekends, and flexible shifts as needed.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
