Machine Operator 3.7 3.7 out of 5 stars Vonore, TN 37885 Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Machine Operator to join our production team. In this role, you will be responsible for the operation, setup, monitoring, and maintenance of equipment used in the molded fiber production process. You’ll play a key part in ensuring smooth operations, meeting production targets, and maintaining high-quality and safety standards. Key Responsibilities Set up, operate, and monitor equipment used in the molded fiber production process. Perform troubleshooting and routine maintenance to ensure safe and efficient equipment operation. Train and guide junior operators or new team members as needed. Load raw materials and maintain production flow. Inspect finished products using precision measuring tools to ensure adherence to quality standards. Conduct performance tests and make necessary adjustments for optimal machine functioning. Maintain accurate records of machine performance, maintenance, and inspections. Ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following all safety procedures. Receive raw materials and ship final products, utilizing warehouse and inventory systems. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines. Work as a team player while meeting individual performance expectations. Essential Functions Sustain the knowledge and skills necessary for all equipment and processes assigned. Monitor and operate related utilities and process control systems. Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and the facility. Support other areas of the plant as required by the production schedule. Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and good manufacturing practices. Communicate professionally and respectfully with all levels of the organization. Maintain control over environmental discharges, contractors, and area visitors. Be available to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed. Minimum Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of process control systems. Above average math and communication skills. Knowledge of plant safety procedures and good manufacturing practices. Ability to lift heavy materials and perform repetitive tasks. Proficient in the use of foot pedals, levers, and switches. Flexibility to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Willingness to work 12-hour shifts. Experience Required Minimum of 3 years’ experience in plant manufacturing or a similar industrial environment. Pulp and Paper experience is a plus.
