Job Description
Position Summary
The Lead Operator is responsible for interacting with various levels of associates within the organization, across all shifts, and providing administrative support to the Molding function. The Lead Operator will observe andmunicate with shift Supervisor any out of the ordinary situation, ensuring issues are resolved.
This role is 100% onsite at our Southington, CT manufacturing facility.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Coordinate the product code that needs to be run on each machine to align with the Assembly schedule.
Schedule machine changeovers and services and coordinate with Mold repair.
Collect molding paperwork for review. Inspect work throughout the molding process andmunicate quality issues to the appropriate parties.
Coordinate tech services, forms specifications, changes and qualifications.
Ensure efficient shift hand-off andmunication.
Serve as Operator representative for special quality and engineering projects.
Ensure efficient scheduling to meet production requirements.
Interface with multiple functional departments within thepany.
Provide training and mentorship to Operators in area.
Promote and support 5S standards; participate in further standards development and implementation.
Serve as a resource to Operators in area; modelpany values and support strategic initiatives.
This position is required to assurepliance of Company operations to all applicable laws, regulations and standards, good business practices andpany documented procedures (including knowledge of all standards, government occupational health and environmental regulations and statutes related to the site).
Engage others, promote and participate in Environmental, Health and Safety initiatives, focusing on continuous improvement.
Perform other related duties as assigned or required.
Knowledge & Skills
Planning background
Microsoft (Outlook, Excel, Word) andputer experience required.
Strong verbal and writtenmunication skills.
Superior critical thinking skills; able to investigate and analyze data to resolve problems.
Demonstrated knowledge of Quality systems as related to medical device manufacturing.
Ability to learn new technologies, knowledge of continuous improvement processes.
Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience
High School Diploma, or GED with 3 to 5 years of manufacturing experience
Work Environment
Work involves use of manufacturing equipment or close proximity to equipment. May be exposed to biohazards and/or chemicals.
Work environment can range from clean room and proper gowning requirements to a production area that is open, potentially noisy and with moving equipment.
Recurring physical demands include standing, walking, stooping, crouching, climbing, bilateral motion involving hands, wrists and upper body.
Concentrated visual attention to perform checks on products andponents.
Typically requires travel less than 5% of the time.
