The Molding Technician is responsible for basicand advanced equipment and process set-up, changeovers,troubleshooting, equipment maintenance and basic repair andrebuild. Equipment includes Injection Molding Machines andassociated ancillary equipment. Perform machine/mold safety checks;perform mold changeovers. Perform cycle checks, adjust businessplan and prioritize workload according to business needs. Makeaccurate process adjustments to alleviate non-conforming parts.

Perform mold start-up/QC Inspection; set up gages to perform QCchecks. Carry out basic cleaning of molds; complete preventivemaintenance. Utilize MVP in relation to PM tasks. Assist Operatorsas required. Process material changeovers – fill barrels, mixmaterials and ensure traceability. Execute basic functions of theShibaura Injectvisor operator controller – load programs andprocess adjustments. Perform basic troubleshooting when answeringmachine alarms. Perform other related duties as assigned orrequired. This position is required to assure compliance of Companyoperations to all applicable laws, regulations and standards, goodbusiness practices and company documented procedures (includingknowledge of all standards, government occupational health andenvironmental regulations and statutes related to the site). Engageothers, promote and participate in Environmental, Health and Safetyinitiatives, focusing on continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

Strong mechanical ability and analytical skills. Sound judgment inthe execution of technical/troubleshooting issues. Strong verbaland written communication skills. Good interpersonal skills tofacilitate communication at various levels and areas within theorganization. Understanding of computers and computerized controls.

Ability to learn new technologies; understand and performcontinuous improvement activities.

Minimum Qualifications,Education & Experience:

Must be at least 18 years of age. HighSchool Diploma, or GED required. Technical school backgrounddesirable. Education requirements may be obtained through aneducational institution or gained through equivalent workexperience. Up to 3 years of manufacturing experience. Previousexperience with plastic injection molding equipment desirable.

WorkEnvironment:

Work involves use of manufacturing equipment or closeproximity to equipment. May be exposed to biohazards and/orchemicals. Work environment can range from clean room and propergowning requirements to a production area that is open, potentiallynoisy, and with moving equipment. Must be able to lift up to 35lbs. and push/pull up to 80 lbs. Recurring physical demands includestanding, walking, stooping, crouching, climbing, bilateral motioninvolving hands, wrists, and upper body. Concentrated visualattention to perform checks on products and components. Typicallyrequires travel less than 5% of the time.
