Heraeus Quartz North America has an immediate opening for a skilled Butting Lathe Operator to join our Cylinder Prep team in Buford, GA. The primary responsibility for this position is to weld cylinders/ingots for processing within oven towers and to weld handles to finished preforms prior to shipment to our customer locations.

Your Role and Responsibilities:

Produce collar-cylinder, j-cylinder, handle-preform, and collar/J extension welds using oxygen-propane torch on automated lathe. Operate wastewater treatment system. Record data/transactions in QDC/SAP. Support overall production, including 5S program, and coverage for other cylinder prep positions as needed. Wear and maintain appropriate PPE for hot flame environment. What is required for this role: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. 1 year of relevant experience preferred. A minimum of 6-months of manufacturing experience is a plus. Demonstrate a high level of integrity and professionalism. Self-directed and motivated with the ability to meet deadlines. Curious? !
