The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing customer supplied electronic art files ensuring that formatting, resolution, fonts and color specifications are all properly presented. Creates proofs for approval and produces printing plates ready for production. Duties Processes customer files to finalize formatting, resolution, fonts and color specifications to create a high-quality print file to include the following tasks: Read workorder as well as all notes and instructions (customer notes, digital paperwork, etc.) Check document size and margins Check document colors and fix any unused or extra colors in the document. Check and extend bleed allowances as necessary. Verify that fonts are working properly/troubleshoot when necessary. Make the necessary adjustments as needed. Perform basic troubleshooting of files that error throughout the workflow. Work directly with CSR, AE, Plant Production Manager, etc. to resolve issues/problems. Maintain all equipment related to department. Produces printing proof containing all specifications for customer approval. Impose art per specific instructions per job ticket. Once proof is approved, produces printing plates. Skills Results oriented, deadline driven Ability to organize, prioritize and control job responsibilities Must be able to juggle multiple projects and perform well with aggressive turnaround times Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proofing, grammar and spelling Ability to effectively communicate with management, co-workers and customers Troubleshooting ability Attention to detail Good eye for color High degree of proficiency in Adobe products, Kodak Prinergy Rip and Plating, Kodak Colorflow, Macintosh platform.
